Plants bred by Gertrude Jekyll

It is not always easy to tell what will be a good talk. Yesterday evening’s talk by Professor Tooley was really fascinating.  It wasn’t just the interesting snippets about the plants, her various gardens and the things that influenced her interest and choice of plants  but his observations about the importance of hands on gardening and learning by doing.

And whilst Professor Tooley didn’t have too high an opinion of Rosa ‘Gertrude Jekyll’

he just might stick with it after hearing the positive report from one of the Caley members present.

This list of plants selected and bred by Gertrude Jekyll is available on the web-site news section.
